Expectations

What were your expectations for 2020?

It’s a natural human tendency to have expectations – but is it always a good thing?  We have expectations on ourselves, our family/friends/colleagues etc.  We have expectations on situations and relationships.  We may feel that others have expectations of us (good and bad) and even have expectations on things like the weather!

2020 might be a great example of where expectations on the whole in no way resembled reality…. This year I had expectations to attend a couple of gigs, go to a handful of weddings and a number of big family parties – not to mention my trip abroad with friends.  I also had expectations of myself and what I had hoped to achieve by a self selected deadline.  None of that happened.

But… while I didn’t get to do any of these things (and in the most part – this has been disappointing), I hadn’t expected to be running Kinesiology sessions online and finding them to be just as good if not better than face to face.  I also hadn’t expected to save so much money in fuel costs and so much time in attending meetings out and about.  I’ve not had to refuel the car since March!!!

What were your expectations for the year and where has reality been different?

How have your expectations different from reality?
