Hakuna Matata – it means no worries…
First Published 25 November 2021
I figured it’s been a while and as I have been thinking that a few of my lovely clients could do with a reminder of one of my favourite you tube videos here it is again – it will take you about 1 minute to watch so well worth it!
If you do find that you don’t have a minute – the flowchart is below the video 😉
In a slight deviation from the no worries theme today, I have just come from a networking call where one of the speakers was discussing their mental health journey. The question he posed for the breakout room was around if we had a routine for before starting our working day and if so, what was it.
This is something I have in the past beat myself up over as I don’t seem to be able to stick to a routine – you know the type – get up at 5am and meditate and journal and go for a walk and hit the gym and write the plan for the day and meditate some more and eat a huge meal or a green smoothie….
Once I stopped beating myself up I realised that for me (and my sanity) I am better to do these things before bed (and not all of these things mind you!). I am now much kinder to myself and I know that if I am going to meditate or journal then it will be before bed when I have time and don’t feel rushed. The difference it has made for me to accept that I don’t have to be the same as everyone else, or that I don’t have to follow all the self appointed gurus on social media telling me how to live my life has been transformational.
So, my suggestion to you, is to find what works for you. By all means, give the suggestions a go but don’t keep them if they aren’t working for you or if they are putting pressure on you or if they are making you worry… and whoop – I managed to bring it back to worry 😉 – it was planned – honest…!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on routine – so head to the comments and let me know!
