Having a bit of an Eeyore day….
First Published 25 August 2022
Ever had one of those days where it feels like everything is determined to not go to plan?
- The alarm didn’t go off
- Your phone didn’t charge overnight
- You get an unexpected call that goes on longer than expected meaning you are late to meet someone else and you can’t quite work out how to hang up without being rude
- You are having a bad hair day that even the most heavy duty of products/tools just won’t tame
- Running late and there are road works that have materialised overnight
- You made it to the petrol station on fumes and it’s closed
- You have a newsletter to write and can’t think of a topic and the software you use to create your images is offline 😭
- And then the straw that breaks the camels back – you get to the supermarket to find the ice cream flavour you have been craving all day is sold out!
Could there be anything worse?
You then end up walking around like you have a huge black cloud hanging over your head. You might start to wallow in self-pity. Maybe get short tempered at anyone who even dares to come within shouting distance of you. And to make matters worse, the people you come into contact with, then also start walking around with a matching black cloud – with all of you getting grumpier and grumpier as the day goes on.
Yes perhaps all you need is a good night’s sleep in lieu of a reset/do over button – but there is still so much you need to get done!
If any of this rings true for you, you will probably be aware that to just keep going is not going to help matters. What you need is a way to break the pattern – a circuit breaker if you will (I wonder where we have heard that before…).
The last thing you probably want to do is take a step back to breathe when you are stuck in that state. But it is usually exactly what is needed.
If this just happens once in a blue moon then grab my handy download full of tips to create the circuit breaker/pattern disruptor – link below.
If you find this kinda black cloud hanging around a little more regularly than you would like – or if you see it in friends or family then Kinesiology may be just what you need. It will help you get to grips with your emotions, help you to see the bigger picture and release the blocks that are creating and helping you cling on to the stress that is lingering alongside that black cloud.
