I’m Lost

What day is it?

First Published 14 February 2022

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you just didn’t know what day it was (other than that no mans land between Christmas and New Year)? Or not know whether you were coming or going?

This has been me this week.  I woke up in a mild panic at 5am on Sunday morning, absolutely convinced it was Monday.  But why the panic (and the stupid o’clock time to wake up)?  Well the story my brain was telling me was that I had forgotten about my group call on Sunday evening and I had let all the participants down!  I was so annoyed with myself.

Took a wee while to realise it was in fact Sunday and I hadn’t missed anything.  The downside of that is that the rest of the week I just haven’t gotten the day of the week right.  Thankfully though – the only thing that I have missed to do was writing this before 10am on Thursday!! In fact, I only realised it was actually Thursday about 2 hours ago when I was on a video call!!

Rather than beat myself up over it, I took a breath, had a laugh at myself and committed to write something when I got off the call!

I think I perhaps need to listen to one of my own meditation recordings and hit the reset button.

When have you been out of sorts?  What have you done to get yourself back on track?

Thankfully on Sunday morning I was able to dip in to my ‘box’ of tools and techniques to release the annoyance, and move back to calm enough to go back to sleep – cos seriously, who wants to be awake at 5am on a Sunday?!?!  If you would like some tips to release annoyance (or anything else) just hit comment or book a zoffee and we can have a natter!
