How do you decide when the world is on sale?

OK – so that might be a bit of an over the top statement…
I don’t know about you but my mailbox is full of pre-Black Friday sales and advanced notice of Black Friday sales!
It can be so easy to get swept up in the sales madness – either making lists of what you were looking to buy anyway and hoping it goes on sale, buying ‘stuff’ just cos the price looks good (even though it’s not something you would even want on a normal day) or just avoiding by fast forwarding / quickly scrolling past adverts and deleting the copious e-mails without reading them for fear you will be enticed.
Just like with my Comfy in Your Own Skin program (which I am planning on running again soon – let me know if you want to be added to the wait list) where I talk about conscious eating – I am going to suggest ‘conscious spending’ – same concept, different application.
My suggestion is to really look at the offer.
Is it something you need and will use?
If not, do you have the spare cash and, will it make you feel good to purchase (for more than just 5 mins) or are you likely to suffer buyers remorse within a day or so?
The hype can feel really good at the time, but remember, there are a lot of sales tactics being used to hopefully entice people to part with their hard earned cash. Just remember, at the end of the day it comes down to a choice – that you get to make. No one can force you to buy something, you have to make the choice to tap the machine, hand over the cash or type in your card details. You.
So be conscious, decide for yourself what you want, what you need and/or what you can afford, and if you feel like you are being rushed, it’s likely not the right choice for you. Unless there is an easy return’s policy it might be better to just walk away.
In other news here’s my offer…. only kidding! My only real ‘offer’ is my complimentary zoffees (zoom coffee chats) – if you are feeling overwhelmed with the noise of the Black Friday sales and/or the pressure of Christmas shopping coming up, do reach out for a chat and if it feels right, we can continue the chat with sessions – but there is absolutely no pressure to do so! Other topics can also be discussed on a zoffee too 😉
