A Win is a Win

A Small Win is Still a Win

At the tail end of last year I decided I was going to rearrange my office including painting a wall and dividing the room up with a curtain.  I then navel gazed for a while, never really getting around to it.

I bought the curtains and curtail rail.

I drew out where the curtain would go on the ceiling, including where the brackets would have to be attached.

And then I ran out of steam!  About 2 weeks ago, I found some more steam! And then ran in to the problem that the rawl plugs that came with the rail were no good for the ceiling I have!!!  So another wee pause!

Today – I am celebrating! I finally put up the last screw and bracket (and I didn’t break myself using power tools!) – battled with a 6 metre flexible curtain rail and managed to get it clipped to the ceiling (on the 3rd attempt and a few colourful words!).

So I am celebrating the win!  I might not have got the shade of paint I want yet or moved my desk, I might not like the clips the rail came with to hang the curtains and I may have under estimated the width of curtains I needed – but I am still celebrating the win!!

I find that in life it’s important to celebrate our successes.  No matter how small they may seem or what any one else thinks, a small win is still a win and as such, it should be acknowledged and appreciated.

By celebrating successes, we are cultivating and nurturing a positive mindset.  This in turn builds momentum towards achieving our goals and continuing to dream of the future that we want.

So next time you achieve something, no matter how tiny it may appear, take a moment to celebrate and congratulate yourself.

And once you have come down from the chocolate sugar rush (maybe that’s just me…) work out the next step to start and before you know it, you will be celebrating again.

I’m off to go find a crème egg to pat myself on the back with (not literally though – that would be weird 😂) and then I’ll go sweep up the mess and get rid of the plaster dust I am now covered in….

Please do share your wins – what have you achieved this week or month?  I’m happy to celebrate with you – it’s a great excuse for me to go buy more crème eggs while they are still available 😉.
