What is on your To Be Read list?
What are you reading now and do you have any recommendations?
Another blog exclusive as for the second time in over 4 years, I forgot to write an e-mail! So I am going to be a little self-indulgent!
Those of you who know we well will know that over the last few years I have hung up my TV-aholic label and swapped it for the written word (or spoken if it is non-fiction).
I read less in 2024 than I did in 2023, however I still hit the target of 366 books! As I have worked out that this is my perfect procrastination tool I have set myself a target of 180 this year. Unfortunately, I am already quite a bit over that target 🤦♀️.
As from now, my plan is not to read in the mornings. I know that when I get in to a book I am enjoying, if there isn’t an appointment in my diary with someone else, I end up losing entire mornings to books! So for anyone who finds this post, you have my permission to hold me accountable and or book conversations or sessions with me in the mornings so that I can’t hide.
One thing I have learned since I began this journey in holistic health is that it is OK to ask for help and support so I am taking my own advice/suggestions!

So, with that in mind, and the fact that 180 is still a good number of books, hit me up with your recommendations!
My Recommendations from Last Year
The books that stuck with me from last year (and I am going to stick to the non-fiction here – if you want fiction recommendations, get in touch!) are below. For now I will just list them and when I have some spare time I may go back and add comments and reasons for why I recommend them! They are in no particular order – in fact, I have no clue what ordering system the Storygraph app has them in..!)
- Untethered Soul – Michael A Singer, this was my 3rd time through on this one and I will likely recommend it every time I read it through!
- Fundamental: How quantum & particle physics explain absolutely everything (except gravity) – Tim James, I think I actually had a good grasp on quantum physics after reading this!
- Oversubscribed – Daniel Priestley, interesting concepts and I will be re-reading this one!
- The Obesity Code – Jason Fung
- Black Box Thinking – Matthew Syed, read this in April and still thinking about it!
- From To-Do to Done – Maura Thomas, quick read so much so I did it twice and took loads of notes as I put it in to practice on the second read!
- Spaceman – Mike Massimino, doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the list but loved it for many reasons!
- Creativity Inc – Ed Catmull, took me a while to get through this one and is one I may well revisit in the future
And if you haven’t checked out The Storygraph for tracking your reading, I highly recommend it – so simple with loads of functionality and some fun reading challenges too.
