What Seeds Are You Watering?

First published 7 September 2025

As I’m enjoying the views of forests and greenery of Alaska, and today’s wander was around the a Garden City of Alaska (Skagway) it nicely allows me to segue into talking about this months Therapists in conversation – we discussed gardening! But more the invisible kind that we tend to (or not) every day through our choices, relationships, and the influences we allow into our lives.

Our latest episode (Episode 64 – ‘Sowing the Seeds of Change’), explored how change rarely happens in isolation.

Every conversation, every TV show we watch, every person we spend time with is essentially planting seeds in the fertile ground of our minds.

Some seeds are planted consciously – we choose to read that book, start that course, or have that difficult conversation.  But many are sown without our awareness through the opinions shared around us, the endless scroll of social media, or simply the energy we absorb from those closest to us.

The crux is that: we’re not just passive recipients of these influences.

We get to choose which seeds we water with our attention and energy, and which we allow to wither.

In working with energy meridians (those invisible pathways that carry life force throughout our bodies) when we’re constantly absorbing others’ anxieties, limiting beliefs, or negative perspectives, these pathways can become blocked or imbalanced.

Likewise, our chakras (the energy centres that govern different aspects of our wellbeing) can become clouded when we’re not picky about the influences we welcome in.

But what if we approached this like tending a garden?

What if we became more intentional about the seeds we’re allowing to take root?

What if we regularly cleared the energetic weeds that aren’t serving us?

This is where the beautiful, constant changes happening in our bodies become our allies.  Each breath, each heartbeat, each cellular renewal is an opportunity to choose differently.

To water the seeds of possibility rather than the weeds of limitation.

The question isn’t whether change will happen – it’s whether you’re actively participating in directing that change.

If you’re ready to become more intentional about the garden of your life, to clear the energetic blocks that keep you from putting yourself first, I’d love to support you. Health Kinesiology helps us identify what’s truly nourishing versus what’s simply taking up space.
