What If You’re Already Enough?

You don’t need fixing (but you might want to consciously edit)

Happy New Year!  Yes this is a tad late, but that’s because I decided to have a few more days off than planned – oh well – it was worth it 🥳

And with a new year, we have another go at January.  Which I feel may be a slightly judgemental month… it brings with it the self-improvement brigade, and all it’s followers asking ‘so what’s your new years’ resolution?’

Everywhere you look, there’s another list of things you should be doing to become a ‘better person’ – and another person asking it too – as if the person you are right now isn’t already pretty brilliant.

So here’s a radical thought: what if you’re already good enough?

Instead of loading yourself up on more resolutions that make you feel inadequate, what if we approached the new year differently? 🤔

Not as a project to fix yourself, but as an opportunity to thoughtfully edit your life.

Keep, Ditch, Celebrate

I’m inviting you to try something I’m call the Anti-Resolution (I may have stolen borrowed the name but I’m not sure that where I got it from had this in mind).

It’s simple: identify three things.

One thing to keep: What brought you joy or peace in 2025?
For me, it was travel.  Those trips fed my soul in ways I hadn’t experienced in way too long.  This year, I’m keeping that spirit alive – even if it’s just daytrips with my camera and good friends.
It doesn’t have to be grand; it just has to matter to you.

One thing to ditch: What habit or pattern no longer serves you?
I’m leaving behind my Olympic-level procrastination (I am resigning my title of self-confessed Procrastination Queen).  My to-do list has been playing hide and seek with me for far too long, so I’ve set up a tracking system to hold myself gently accountable – feel free to gently prod me throughout the year to makes sure I am sticking with it!
What’s ready to be released from your life?

One thing to celebrate: What are you genuinely proud of from last year?
This isn’t about achieving the most – it’s about acknowledging what you’ve navigated, created, or survived.

Your Body Already Knows

From a kinesiology perspective, your body holds the wisdom about what’s working and what isn’t.
That lightness you feel when you think about certain activities?  That’s your energy system saying “yes, more of this please.”  The heaviness or resistance around others?  That’s information too.

The Metal element (which governs autumn and winter) is about letting go and keeping what’s valuable.  Think of it as your body’s natural composting system – releasing what’s no longer needed so new growth has space to emerge.  Note how gentle that sounds?

Your Turn

Get out your pen and paper (or a notes app).
Write down your three things: keep, ditch, celebrate.
Don’t overthink it.
Let your first instinct guide you.

And if you’re on a roll?  Don’t stop at one of each if you end up in flow, you can fill a notebook or just have a couple.
Your life, your rules.

You’re not a project that needs fixing.

Actually, I am going to say that again – you are NOT a project that needs FIXING!

You’re a person who gets to choose what stays and what goes.

What will you choose?

If you’d like support figuring out what your body is trying to tell you about what to keep or release,  I’m here.
