Why Worry? Reframing Your Perspective
We’ve all been there (even if it’s a rare occurrence): caught in a whirlwind of worry, anxiety, and stress. It can feel like a never-ending cycle, draining our energy and providing roadblocks to being able to live our lives fully.
But what if there was a simpler way to manage these emotions?

Revisiting an Old Friend
I recently revisited a mail I wrote in 2021 titled “Why Worry?” The trigger to revisit this was a conversation with a client who shared their struggles with anxiety this week (you know who you are – I did say I’d write this 😉 – thanks for the inspiration! – and for everyone else, the client did wrangle the anxiety feelings so all is good there too!)
The post featured a short video (one of my favourites!) that has proven incredibly helpful for many people. It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that often, our worries are unnecessary and unproductive never mind their unhelpful nature!
The Worry Flowchart
The video presents a straightforward flowchart:

The Power of Perspective
This simple flowchart highlights the futility of worrying about things we can’t control.
As the saying goes, “You can’t control everything, but you can control your attitude/reactions.”
Worrying about things we can’t change is like stressing over the weather. It’s a waste of energy – so if like me you are in Scotland, just grab a brolly and expect to get soggy!
Embrace the Worry-Free Mindset
If we can adopt a more positive & proactive mindset, we can reduce stress, improve our well-being, and live more fulfilling lives.
I invite you to watch the video (below) and share it with others who may benefit from its message (feel free to share this mail too!). Let’s break free from the cycle of worry and embrace a more peaceful and fulfilling existence.
Have you found this approach helpful in managing your anxious or stress-filled thoughts? Please do share your experiences in the comments.
Remember as always, you are not alone. Let’s support each other on this journey towards a more worry-free life.
