Here’s a question for you: have you ever put a battery in upside down? The device doesn’t work, does it? The battery just drains away, achieving nothing.
That’s what happens when we’re living out of alignment with our natural design. We pour energy into things that aren’t right for us, and that can leave us feeling exhausted, burnt out, and wondering why we can’t just push through like everyone else seems to manage. In our latest ‘Therapists in Conversation’ episode, we explored this idea of alignment – understanding why we might be feeling drained in the first place. It’s not always about working harder; sometimes it’s about recognising you’re working against your own design.
In kinesiology, we work with your body’s energy systems – your meridians and chakras – to identify where blockages are occurring and where energy is being misdirected.
When we’re aligned, energy flows.
When we’re not, it stagnates or depletes entirely.

I’ve been exploring Human Design lately (I’m definitely not an expert – yet…), and it’s fascinating how it complements the energy work I do.
It offers another lens for understanding why certain activities build your energy whilst others drain it completely – even if they’re things you’re “supposed” to enjoy or be good at.
The uncomfortable truth?
About 70% of the population operates one way, and if you’re not part of that majority, you’ve likely spent your life trying to fit into a mould that was never designed for you. Society expects us to pick one path and stick to it. Find our “calling” and never deviate.
But what if that’s not how you work?
What if you’re meant to light up at different things throughout your life?
What if the exhaustion you’re feeling isn’t because you’re failing – it’s because you’re trying to force your battery in upside down?
I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. I still don’t. I used to think that was a failing. Now I see it as part of my design – doing different things as they light me up, rather than forcing myself into one box for life.
Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, feeling the pull to change direction, or simply sensing that something isn’t quite right, the question worth asking is: are you living in alignment, or are you following someone else’s script?
In our sessions, we work with your body’s wisdom to find where you’re out of alignment – not based on what you should be doing, but what genuinely serves your unique design.
Because at the end of the day, you’re the one who has to live with you always.
