A Quiet Moment (If You Need One)

First published Christmas Day 2025

No tips today.  No tasks.  No should-dos.

Just this: however you’re spending today is perfectly fine.

If you’re surrounded by people and secretly craving five minutes of peace, it’s okay to step away (in fact I encourage it – and if you need it, I give you permission to do so!).

Pop outside for a breath of fresh air, lock the bathroom door for a moment, or simply close your eyes whilst the kettle boils. And if you’ve chosen to spend todayon your own – by design, not default – that’s absolutely valid too.  Please don’t let anyone’s “oh, that’s a shame” or “you shouldn’t be alone” comments diminish your choice.

Solitude and loneliness are not the same thing.

You know what you need.

Here’s something simple if you find yourself needing to ground:

Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.

Take three slow breaths – you choose how slow.

Feel your own solid, steady presence.

You’re here.  You’re okay.  This moment is yours.

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got for you today.

Wishing you peace, ease, and exactly the kind of day that feels right for you.

With all of the happiest of Christmas* wishes,

Angela.

* Other holidays are available, feel free to swap out for your preference 😊
